The East Naples Fire Rescue District came in full salute to Lely High School on Friday morning to honor the school’s yearbook staff. The staff and Patricia Oxx, yearbook advisor, assisted fire personnel in doing the layout and composition for the fire district’s 50th anniversary commemorative book,
scheduled for late summer publication. The fire district’s mascot, “Sparky the Fire Dog,” arrived on the fire truck, with interim fire chief Keith Teague and other firefighters who were greeted by Lely Principal Ken Fairbanks. The new 50th anniversary insignias will adorn fire trucks, staff vehicles, business cards, and correspondence. Much of the art work and production of the logos has been donated by the owner of a local sign and graphics company. “It’s hard for us to believe that East Naples Fire Rescue has been in business and proudly serving area residents and visitors for five decades,” said Greg Speers, fire district community relations officer. “Lely High School has been an appreciated, admired and respected partner to us for more than two thirds of those years.” |
